Attachment

Love Builds Brains
- Dr. Jean Clinton

A baby is the smallest possible form of human being. It is a sensitive and fragile being that depends on the care of an adult to survive.

Research shows that all babies are predisposed at birth to form a very strong relationship with the adults who care for them.

This attachment relationship is built by consistently responding to the baby’s needs. Secure attachment starts to develop in the child-adult relationship when the baby feels reassured that the adults in their lives will be present to meet their needs to be soothed and nourished. Attachment thus becomes an important element in developing a connection and maintaining relationships.
